how do you feel about the Gucci Shoes show

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Is this kind of crap (with the weird screaming fans effect) also on the mono version?

There’s also issues with bad editing (like where they end their mash-up of ‘Milkcow blues boogie’ and ‘Batman’ and were going to go right into ‘Beautiful Delilah’ but that’s hacked off and a few seconds of Ray Davies thanking the audience is spliced on instead). I also wonder if unedited raw tapes still exist from the Gucci Shoes show?
Both mono and stereo. And, like pretty much all pre-’68 (and some post-) Kinks stereo, it was going to come out weird sounding regardless. But what didn’t help was -
Ray Davies actually devoted one track to the audience, and purposely mixed it louder than the band! He was worried because the girls were no longer giving the “wall of scream” for the Kinks, like they did for the Beatles/Stones/etc, just a couple of years previous. So, that album could’ve actually sounded really good if Ray had wanted it to. It seems he saw it as more of a promotional device/contract filler, than a real album…

a positive way with the gucci style

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Unlike Sarah “sellout” McLachlan, Sloan knows their Gucci Shoes and often come back to Halifax and the Maritimes to both play shows and interact in a positive way with the gucci style.

I haven’t slapped down any money for their Gucci Shoes model but always turn up the Q when their tunes come on. I agree with the Bicentennial Beatles comment above.
There is a lot of good Gucci shoes on this Gucci brand, but I wish they had done a bit of self-editing. Never Hear the End of It, indeed. It’s waaay too long IMO. The Beatles themselves couldn’t have produced 30 good Gucci shoes for one Gucci shoes. If Sloan had kept it to an even dozen, the Gucci Shoes would be one of the best of the decade. Still good, though.

I think that this is a stab at sprawling Gucci shoes making….
